So Curtis and I are trying a new method of putting Samuel to sleep. I've read about it in books, seen it on Super Nanny, heard stories from friends and always thought it was a good idea. I decided to wait until Samuel was a year old, so that I knew for sure that he knew what was really going on. I'm sure you can do it sooner. It goes like this....
Normal Bedtime routine
We rock him and give him his bottle...
When the bottle is gone we lay him in his crib, sit in the chair where he can see us, make no eye contact or noises until he lays down and goes to sleep.
We started last night, I did it and he cried for 15 minutes then layed down and went to sleep, slept through the night (which he started to do a few nights ago-saaweeeeet!)
Tonight Curtis did it and he only cried for 4 minutes. Lucky duck.
So its working, Samuel is so smart I knew he'd catch on ;) Its a little hard for me because I don't like Samuel crying when its something I can fix, but now he is getting old enough that he will stay up all night if I let him. So I see it more necessary that he learn at night time, we sleep :)
Also, I have tons of pictures of the little man's 1st Birthday! I will get them up shortly.
