Burnt Mushrooms

Tonight for dinner I made fried mushrooms as part of our dinner. I have never made anything fried before, let alone fried mushrooms. But its sounded pretty easy, just heat up the oil, throw'em in and turn'em and their done. Despite the fact that the instructions seemed easy, I decided to do a test mushroom. So I threw it in and just about the same time it hit the oil it was completely black- from what I could see. I honestly couldn't tell you how black it was because there was a ton of smoke between me and the poor little mushroom. By the time I fished it out it was blacker than a piece of edible food should have been. So I set the poor little fella to the side and turned off the gas, let the oil cool down and then tried one more. This time it wasn't so bad. I could actually see the mushroom. It was bubbling on the side, I flipped it to find it wasn't even brown yet. Aw, relief. It really is that simple. Guess my recipe forgot the "tip". Or maybe its just common sense. Oh well.

As for our day. It was a semi-normal Sunday. Except we didn't meet for fellowship because the other two people were busy or out of town. I had a study with my senior girls, which is always a delight. Afterward I gave them all of our left over magazines from last year. They were SOOO excited. Curtis' has been taking test and studying but luckily his school load is caught up so he now had enough time to go play basketball today and yesterday.

Tomorrow starts another week!
